If you want to buy a printer recently then you post: Which printer is best?
Then you may get these answers: Bambulab X1 or Creality K1
The first thing we notice with the k1 without even having one is they are shipping with brass nozzles so already you have to do an upgrade if you want to do abrasive materials including wood and carbon fiber. The x1c has a hardened steel nozzle ready to go. It can handle most things you throw at it right out of the box. And the k1 review/unboxing videos I've seen so far were nothing spectacular. It looked like a cheap creality clone of the x1c.
X1C is better than k1, especially if you are trying to make money (provided you don't have to worry about NDA's) it is ready to print with perfect quality out of the box. If you had to pay an employee to set one up it would only cost you 30 minutes of labor time tops. Like even if you hired someone really stupid lol. It would still be set up and running in about 30 minutes. It's that kind of hassle-free experience. The way it should be with any high-quality product.
If you're considering the combo I assume you see the benefits of the AMS which of course you won't get with the K1. Creality is allegedly going to make an AMS but only for the Max version of the K1, if that's even true...
When you are using the AMS of X1C. You don't need to worry about the filament being used out because it will automatically change another roll of the filament. At the same time, you can print multi colors printing with AMS.
I also figured since the X1C has been around for a year or so, we already know plenty about its reliability/quality whereas it's too early to judge the K1 fairly, although early reviews show it's fairly decent... so don't want to wait another year to see how good/bad the K1 really is and although Creality are supposedly working on an AMS for the Max only, I can't imagine it living up to the capabilities of the Bambu AMS.
If you want to order today, go for the X1C Combo, but if you can wait a few months for some in-depth reviews of the K1 then the cost saving might be worth it to you.
